2.5 FT TANK UPDATE

Left my tank about 2 weeks, as I went visit my dad in Pahang. Its not so wonderful there as raining almost everyday, but I did made a short trip to the jungle about 60KM from his place. As usual, he's interested in joining me . The road is quite narrow and it pissing down that morning too.. I hate driving in such situation! Well, he paid for the petrol..lol. After coming back from Pahang, this is how my tank doing.. Jeez!! really need a "haircut"!!

USED PLANTED TANK SUBSTRATE

used planted tank is not recommended especially if its over a year. I did this in this setup, and turned the water out very cloudy even after a couple of days. If you still wanting to use it, make sure you put a fine gravel on top of the used substrate and cover it nicely, so that the mud won't came out on the surface and make your water grey!
100% water changed..

next day its still cloudy!

NEW SETUP FOR 2.5 FT PLANTED TANK

I got my new 2.5 ft tank today. I had thought about upgrading my 2 ft tank to 2.5 ft and tadaa.. but I removed the rim on top of the tank as it's easy for me to put my lighting on it. I'll be using the substrate in my 2 ft tank. I noticed, the bottom layer of the substrate already turned into mud.. but its all about experimenting.. so I'll give it a try though...

CRYPTOCORYNE AFFINIS

I forgot to tell you about my previous trip to Pahang last month for Java ferns, when I took some photos of Cryptocoryne affinis that grows in the stream. But I only have a couple of shots of it using my crap phone camera. From what I read on the net, C. affinis is quite easy to keep as long as you don't move them around in your tank once it's planted there. Melting is very common for crypts, but then it will grow back after some time when they've settled down. I kept some of these plants.. and they're doin great so far!
