USED PLANTED TANK SUBSTRATE

used planted tank is not recommended especially if its over a year. I did this in this setup, and turned the water out very cloudy even after a couple of days. If you still wanting to use it, make sure you put a fine gravel on top of the used substrate and cover it nicely, so that the mud won't came out on the surface and make your water grey!
100% water changed..

next day its still cloudy!

NEW SETUP FOR 2.5 FT PLANTED TANK

I got my new 2.5 ft tank today. I had thought about upgrading my 2 ft tank to 2.5 ft and tadaa.. but I removed the rim on top of the tank as it's easy for me to put my lighting on it. I'll be using the substrate in my 2 ft tank. I noticed, the bottom layer of the substrate already turned into mud.. but its all about experimenting.. so I'll give it a try though...

Java fern, anubias, crypts & moss
